Save and Access Data Faster With Dell Desktop Internal Hard Drives

Choose a hard drive with a speed of 7200 revolutions per minute (RPM) and above for faster writing and access to data. The range of Dell's internal hard drive speeds goes up to 15,000RPM. A Dell SATA hard drive has transfer speeds of up to 6Gbps. For smaller systems, go for a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard drive to maximize speed. These drives operate at up to 12Gbps. Select a cache (buffer) of at least 16MB for speedy information retrieval. The cache is a temporary storage area for data that the hard drive is currently reading and writing, and its value is directly proportional to the expected overall speed and performance of the hard drive.
