Does this board support the A6 5400K AMD processor (and the video on that APU)?

The A6 5400K AMD processor fits an FM2 socket motherboard.  The ASUS AM1I-A AM1 motherboard is an AM1 platform/FS1B socket, which is also sometimes called an AM1 socket, and I'm not sure how AMD is resolving the confusion. But, to finish answering your question, No - this board does not support an A6 5400K processor.  That particular processor requires an FM2 motherboard.

What CPU do I need?

This AM1 socket is designed to support "System On A Chip" Kabini series AM1 socket processors.   These are the new 28nm low power CPU with integrated graphics and northbridge that are roughly equivalent to laptop processors.

My Kabini system with this board runs 24 hours a day in the bedroom and processes folding@home when we're not watching shows on it - it generates less heat than the fans that blow across our bed.

It is important to remember that this is a limited computer system, not good for gaming but excellent for office/productivity applications.

Has anyone used this board in conjunction with an Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter PCI-E?  There seems to be some compatibility issues with that card and some AM1 boards.

My initial assumption is that because it's not an Intel based motherboard, that may be the primary reason there's a compatibility issue.  I've found, from experience though, is that the best way to figure something out is through practice.  It could be that some people have had a bad experience while others haven't.  So long as the PCIe socket is right I don't see any reason why it should be a major problem, but I could be wrong.

Question 5

I see several video out ports on this motherboard, yet the Onboard Video Chipset says none, can anyone tell me about this?  I need this board to be able to put out 1080p from the hdmi port. Does it do this?

Sure does.  It has HDMI, DVI-D, and VGA ports.  I am only using the DVI port at the moment.  The motherboard manual states on page views, "Supports HDMI with max. resolution of 4096x2160@24Hz/1920x1080@60Hz. "  DVI-D is supported to 1920x1200@60Hz and VGA is supported to 2048x1536@60Hz.

Can I connect three separate monitors to this motherboard using all the video ports at the same time?

Unfortunately no.  You'd think with the various display outputs, you could just hook up anything and use it at the same time.  Motherboards this price point don't have that feature....maybe newer cutting edge ones do.  You can just buy a cheapo $25 AMD graphics card and connect either HDMI and VGA, or DVI and VGA.

Are the on-board graphics good enough for lite gaming, or would i need to get a more expensive mini itx for that, considering that there is no GPU slot?

I paired this board with an AMD Sempron 3850, and I was able to install and run Battlefield 4 at very low settings. So I would say that it is capable of light gaming. Obviously with the Athlon AM1  APUs you will get better performance (for the CPU and GPU). Depending on what you want to do, you probably don't need an external GPU.

Has anyone used this board in a headless (no monitor attached) system?  I want to make sure this thing will boot without a monitor.

I have. I used hdmi for initial bios setup and first os load. Since then, I have booted several times without anything connected to video output. I am using it in an unRaid setup.

Question 9

In BIOS, is there an option Yes or No to use UEFI booting?

I believe there is...but, just to be sure, go to Asus website and download the instruction manual for this motherboard...it will tell you for sure.

Question 10

Does the bios show any options for enabling or using ECC memory? The chipset and some CPUs for this both support it but it's up to the manufacturer to enable it. Also, the manual for this says it does but those are not always correct.
