can i use this to watch movies? i.e. netflix etc... if im not using it for gameplay?

You certainly can and I must say I was impressed by its range of sound. It can hit some nice deep bass notes which of course makes it perfect for movies! However, be aware that this does plug into a USB so IF you have a soundcard (not very common anymore) you won't be able to plug into an analog jack. However it works perfectly fine on USB anyway. Be sure to of course set this as your audio playback device when you plug it in so netflix doesn't play on your speakers. But that goes somewhat without saying.

How's the headset working for you so far? Can I bend the mic to my preference, or is it in a solid state and only rotates? Doesn't anything about batteries, so is it rechargeable or do I have to use new batteries?

Hey, Andrew. I think you would be hard-pressed to find something better at this price point. All my gamer friends say I'm crystal clear on VoIP and I love the sound quality on my end. The headset doesn't breathe, but there's decent isolation for better immersion. To avoid any discomfort such as Joe K's example, be sure to adjust the headset to fit you properly.
