I was somewhat learyif the cable would work even with the description being exact, but it was that easy! Plug and basically play with a small amount of tweaking. It was the perfect fit for my applicaiton of going from WIN-XP to WIN-7 and having to connect a very old printer via USB. I have a new Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows 7 and an HP LaserJet 4200n printer whose network card burned out but whose parallel port was still functional -- but no parallel port on the laptop. After reading many reviews online, this adaptor seemed most promising for the OS/hardware combination -- and Windows 7 automatically installed some driver the first time I plugged it in and the printer was automatically configured.
