I rely on these drives for my work PCs, and have trusted WD black going back to the Velociraptor days 20 years back. Only issue I had on latest purchase, was defective drive that had been cut open and repackaged to look like a new return but was defective with "cyclic redundancy error." Luckily Newegg shipped me a fast replacement and that worked first try, as per usual. Whew!

Great value hard drive. Huge cache. Quiet.

Usually when you deal with RMAs it's a hassle, however this was one of the best customer service I had to deal with. I bought the product forgetting to focus on the fact that it was a SAS connection which I didn't want so I returned it to get a SATA one and the customer service was super friendly and extremely quick to responding to my emails.

fast, quiet, runs relatively cool for a 7200

Perform fine. No Failures.

Bought this and one of the 5K3000 2TB "green" drives. HD Tune V2.55 on Windows 7 x64 using SATA2 controller on older E8400 system, the reads on this one averages 130.0MB/s and bursts to 164.1MB/s. It runs at around 107F. For comparison the 5K3000 averages 101.6MB/s and bursts to 159.0MB/s and it runs at around 104F. The seeks on this drive are slightly louder than the 5K3000 but just barely audible outside of an older Antec Sonata case.

Good bang for the buck. WD reliability is top notch.
