Can this monitor be swiveled and displayed vertically?

Yes, it can be displayed vertically. I researched this because we need vertical dispaly capabilities and it will do this.

does it tilt forward and back?

I hate to say it, but I don't even remember buying this monitor. However, in the ad it does say "Tilt, swivel and pivot your screen..."

Does the monitor slide up and down on it's stand?

Yes, it slides up and down, and tilts as well. I love my Dell monitor and have since bought another one.

What cables does it come with?

It came with the following cables: Power cord VGA DVI

Does the monitor have ability to attach to a monitor pole by removing the stand? Is there mounting screws on the back of the monitor after removing the stand?

It has a quick release stand and standard VESA mounting with 4 screws behind it.
