What is the difference between the GFR304SD and the RDF5?

The price is the biggest difference. As for practical use, it is really dependent on the speed of your SDxx card. Cards rated for 45+ MBS will really benefit from this. Below 35 MBS maybe not so much. Either reader will be fine in my opinion. My IOGEAR gets warm on big transfers, not hot, but there's a lot of electrons moving thru it! And they're both inexpensive so buy two because failure is inevitable.

Best part of my purchase was buying higher speed SD cards: my camera wrote files very noticeably faster! Stop looking at specs. Get either one with a matching high speed SD card and enjoy the speed. (Brevity is not my strongest point, apologies.)
