Important instruction: This CM2K0R clamp meter can not test DC Current.
Note: The clamp Jaw is only used to measure current. Do not measure voltage by clamping the conductor being measured. To measure the current, you need to clamp the meter around one of the wires and not the whole power cord. The power cord contains two wires carrying current and a ground wire. The current in the two wires always flows in opposite directions, so the magnetic fields from the two wires cancel each other; therefore, the meter reads 0 A.
The NCV function can test the voltage without contact. When the Meter senses a weak AC signal, the green indicator light will be on and the buzzer will emit a slow, audible beep. When the Meter senses a strong AC signal, the red indicator light will be on and the buzzer will emit a quick beep.
PLEASE ATTENTION
Incorrect operations may cause no work or inaccurate readings:
- Incorrect current: The conductor to be tested is not in the center of the clamp head. (Refer to the right picture for correct use.)
- Incorrect voltage: The plugs of test leads are not fully inserted or not inserted into the correct sockets. It will cause incorrect voltage readings or the clamp meter may not work.
- Doesn't work: Clamp the whole power cord when measuring the current. You need to clamp the meter around one of the wires.
