How many controllers are in the box?

There be only one. Depending on which console u ordered there are 2 different controllers. Regular and elite. I think the scorpio and the Standard consoles come with the regular controller. If you want the elite controller you pay extra.

what is the difference between this version and the project scorpio edition?

Project Scorpio version was a limited edition of the Xbox One X, similar to the Day One version of the Xbox One. The differences between this and Project Scorpio version are purely cosmetic.

Not for file transfer or audio... And I'm not really sure why you would want such a thing... but it does support 2.4 GHz connectivity for controllers.

No, the Project Scorpio edition was a limited edition that was sold via pre-order the day the console release date was announced. As far as the hardware is concerned, there is no difference between this and the Project Scorpio edition. the only discernible difference would be the laser etching on the console and controller of "Project Scorpio".

what type of hard drive is it? SSD or Hybrid?

Yes just a standard hard drive. however you can install a SSD internally as that's what i did.

Do all games require a monthly fee to be able to play games?

No. If you purchase a physical copy or digital copy of a game, it's yours to play.

However, if you want to play multiplayer games online you have to subscribe to Xbox live gold, which does have a monthly fee.

The are also monthly subscription services (i.e. Xbox game pass) that give you access to many games (like a Netflix). It'll let you download and play any of its games for as long as you remain subscribed.

So far, no.  Yours should still be under warranty as the console was released less than a year ago--take advantage of it.  Microsoft is generally good with warranty repair.  I've had to use the warranty service on my Xbox One (original) twice so they may not be the best built consoles.

Would be nice to know what is included, such as the wireless controller?

All the normal stuff, hdmi, power cord and the newer version of the Xbox one controller.

Can i  use my pc's keyboard and trackball mouse on this system?

You'll be able to use any USB keyboard to play games on your Xbox One, but only if the developer enables it. The line between PC and console gaming just got a little bit blurrier: keyboard and mouse support is coming to the Xbox One.
