I am planning on buying the USB Flash Drive version, and i was wondering if it will come in an usb, or if i have to download it from the website into my own usb. In other words, will I review an usb when purchasing this, with the OS installed in it? Thanks!

Hi Patrick.

It comes on a USB Flash drive. While you wait for it to arrive, you can download Windows 10 to an existing flash drive and install it, using it in unlicensed mode. When this arrives, you can input the product key and unlock your copy of Windows without further installation.

Does the USB flash drive come with the software already inside of it or does it come with a CD you got to put in a different computer in order to get windows?

Hello Jonathan, In case someone has not answered your question earlier (just saw the email), the usb stick comes installed with the software, so there is no disc. You will have to set up the motherboard to boot from usb. Hope this helps. Later on.

Is this like an upgrade for my Windows 7??  Will it do the upgrade or does it need a bare drive like Windows 7 required??

You don't need this to upgrade from windows 7 or 8.1.
You can do that either by ensuring your machine has all the updates and you will get 10 via software update, or you can download the update installer from MS. (software-download/windows10)

What you are paying for here is a clean install with product key.
That's for when your hard drive is blank.

I expect they are really the same thing, actually, but in one case the installer detects the previous windows and automatically activates 10, in the other case, no windows, no auto activate.

So is it 64 bit or 32?

It doesn't matter in this case.  You are simply given a product key and then you can download the media creation tool from microsoft.  There you can create a 32 or 64 bit install image for the edition you choose. When you install, all you have to do is give it the product key and Windows should activate.

can I load this to a bare metal PC?

Absolutely. And since this is the USB flash drive version, you won't even need a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drive.

I built two new PCs using two copies of this package. You can actually expedite the process. Order this, and while waiting for it to arrive, take an existing 4GB or larger Thumb drive, and use it to make a Windows 10 install drive. This is done easily at the Microsoft Website. I can't link here, so just search for "Windows 10 Media Creation Tool."

Then, just use the thumb drive that you just made. When your copy arrives, you can use that as the license key to unlock Windows 10 (it will work for 30 days unregistered).

Your CD Key is the Activation Key for the Copy of Windows you are purchasing.

On the USB drive itself is a sticker as well as a card that comes with the packaging which also provides you your CD Key.

Once it is used and Activated on the Computer installed to you will be unable to use it on any other PC as it is now locked down to that Computer.

how many computers can this license be installed on?

The system requirements on the box says "Single License" that I understand means only one.

The license is located at the Microsoft web site and states:

2.      Installation and Use Rights.
a.      License. The software is licensed, not sold. Under this agreement, we grant you the right to install and run one instance of the software on your device (the licensed device), for use by one person at a time

I have not attempted to install in multiple devices and have no knowledge if it would be allowed during registration.

Yes Win10 install software is on drive. If a new computer you must set up bios to boot from USB drive first. Then boot computer and the install runs of drive.

So this is a USB right? I'm building a PC, and I won't have internet access right from start until I install Windows. So its a USB, I put it in my PC, it downloads ? Thats it?

It is a USB stick, I was helping my HS age Nephews build a machine.  
I reused a 2TB hard drive from one of my machines that I did a rebuild on.

I put it in the USB and did have to allow the machine to boot using a USB.  The instructions were fairly clear, just a minor change in the boot process.  This is the full version WIN 10, so even if you reused a hard drive, it will be fine.

There is a problem if you choose to reuse a HD and have the upgrade version.  WIN 7 OS can't be used to an upgrade for WIN 10 OS if the HD is changing machines.  But I am sure that is not a part of your question.

Does this come with a USB drive because I'm getting ready to build a new AMD PC without an optical drive?

yes it does but it not the newest version of windows that out. from another pc use the windows media creation tool it free and it make the newest windows 10 iso for you on a usb stick.
