How does the Dri Mark Counterfeit Detector Pen work?
The iodine-based ink reacts with starch in fake bills, turning dark. On real U.S. currency (starch-free), the mark stays light.
Can it detect foreign bills?
Standard pens are for U.S. bills only. Dri Mark’s Universal Pen can check some foreign currencies but not polymer bills.
Is it effective on old and new bills?
Yes, it works on all U.S. bills since they all use the same cotton-linen paper without starch.
Can counterfeiters fool the pen?
Advanced fakes using real paper (like bleached bills) may pass. Use UV lights or other tools for better security.
How long does the pen last?
It lasts long due to a larger ink supply. Keep the cap on tightly and store it cool and dry to maximize life.
