What causes digital calipers to jump?
If a digital caliper jumps, it's because digital calipers are particularly sensitive to dirty, wet environments like oil and water.
How to solve this problem?
Try wiping the caliper itself with a clean, soft cloth, or leaving the caliper in the sun for an hour or so, or usually a hair dryer will solve the problem.
What if the above doesn't work?
If the digits are still jumping, the batteries may not be making good contact and you can try replacing them with new ones.
