This CarPlay interface decoder is designed for BMW vehicles with EVO ID5/ID6 systems. It is compatible with BMW 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 Series and M3/M4/M5, X1/X2/X3/X4/X5/X6 models from 20172020. It is not for use with NBT, CIC, or ID7 systems, nor with i3 or MINI EVO vehicles. The unit adds Wireless and Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling access to navigation apps like Google Maps, Waze, and Apple Maps, plus music, calls, messages, and voice control via Siri/Google Assistant. It integrates with your original EVO system via an LVDS connection, retaining the factory screen and OEM functions. A long press of the original iDrive controller switches between the OEM system and the CarPlay interface without a reboot. It supports MirrorLink for smartphone screen mirroring, allowing apps like YouTube, videos, and photos to display on the factory screen. The decoder is compatible with factory, aftermarket rear, and 360-degree cameras, and supports front camera and DVR input (CVBS) along with parking radar display. Installation requires dashboard removal to connect LVDS and power cables to the EVO head unit. Test all functions before reassembling panels.
