any idea if this will fit dell inspirion 7720 model 17.5 inch screen  HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT80N ?  Mine failed and I'm having a brutal time trying to find a replacement.

What is the model number of the drive?  I can't read it in the photo.   I'm trying to see if it will fit a Dell Inspiron 3668 desktop.  Thanks

I got this one and it fit my dell 3668 no problem and it works great. My original drive started to error so I replaced it with this. It does not come with a new cover bezel. And removing the old bezel I broke it. So be careful with that.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5559 that is a few years old.  The Write feature of the DVD/CD drive does not seem to work.  Will this unit fit and work in my computer?

No, this drive is compatible with a Dell Inspiron 17" 3721 laptop. Looks like you need a SATA CD/DVD rom drive, part #9M9FK.
