Depending on the spacing between them, it will! Make sure to check the spacing your motherboard gives you so you don't get t a too small of a bridge, but this one is the most common so I'd guess this is the one you'd need.

I am using it with two GTX1080Ti's. Don't see why it wouldn't work with 2 "normal" GTX1080's as the pins are the same.

I have two GTX 1070 FTW's and they run fine. I believe 1080's would work too. Since 1080's are faster than my cards you may find a better(faster) option.

An SLI bridge will work on any two cards, you just want to make sure you have a higher end one like this for high bandwidth cards (which would include 970 GTX). This would only NOT work for cards with unconventional gaps between cards, since the width is fixed.
