This USB to serial device is a USB 2.0 to RS-232 serial adapter used to convert input RS-232 serial signals to USB at the host computer. It easily adds one serial port to a computer even if it is unequipped with COM port ability. The GM-FTDI2-LED supports peripherals requiring a serial RS-232 connection.

The USB to serial adapter is manufactured with a High-end quality processor chip FT232RL from FTDI Semiconductors; the converter also includes a ZT232E RS232 transceiver from ZyWyn USA.
