What are the specific performance improvements of the Ryzen 7 5700X compared to the previous generation Ryzen 7 3700X?

Big IPC improvement's and power efficiency. So single thread performance went up like 20% I think which also makes multi-thread power go up. I own a 3600 and single thread on cinebench 15r is 198 vs 240 or so for my 5600 I own. If your stuck on am4 it's worth it if not save for am5 or something else.

Question 2

Can this CPU handle intensive gaming and multitasking without overheating, or should I consider additional cooling solutions?

You'll have to buy a cooler since this 5700x doesn't come with one, but as long as you buy something like a Freezer 36 – CPU Cooler. OR a Cooler Master Hyper 212 minimum even add a fan to it for push and pull have good air flow in your case you should never have a issue.

Is this processor compatible with a B450 motherboard, or will I need to update my BIOS?

If you buy a new mobo you should have no issues. If it's a used mobo from years ago you might need a bios update. Some b450 mobo I believe allow you to update bios with a button on back so no extra CPU needed. I have never tried it though I just do it old school.

Mine came from USA within a week or so. Diffused in china though but works no problem. I'm happy niece will be too.

Looks like a normal CPU. Has some Chinese writing on the box. English on back still says it has 3 year limited warranty. It also is just diffused in china vs some others that are diffused in USA+ diffused in Taiwan then made in Malaysia. I'm happy works perfect bios and OS says it is what it should be.
