The plastic inner bucket is lined with 16 sharp stainless steel blades, and these blades consistently shave ice quickly as they rotate. It doesn't need a special ice compartment and the inlet of the ice shaver can be filled with various shapes of ice cubes. The outlet of the ice shaver is also slanted to make it easy for the ice to fall into the bowl.
