How to replace water heater element?
First off, turn off the power supply to the water heater and so on. Next, shut off all the water. After that, release the water pressure by pulling up a small valve, which will let some water come out.
Once this is completed, remove the two screws that hold the cap in place over the element.
After taking off the cap, loosen the gas line and move it aside. With that out of the way, you can then remove the two wires attached to the heating element.
Next, use your RV tool wrench or a socket and socket wrench to loosen the element. Once the seal is broken, it should be possible to unscrew it by hand. Also drain the tank at this time.
At this point, take out new element and gaskets.Then reverse the steps and reconnect and tighten everything up again.
