This fiber optic decoder is designed for Mercedes Benz ML (2005-2011), GL (2005-2013), R (2005-2018), S W221 (2005-2012), CLS (2009-2012), and SLK (2009-2012). It also functions as a fiber optic decoder box for Porsche 911 (2004-2015), Boxster (2004-2012), and Cayman (2004-2016). This optic fiber decoder is suitable for BMW E9X, E7X, and F0X models. It works as the optical fiber box for Audi 2G HOST and 3G HOST systems, and the optic fiber decoder is compatible with the VW Touareg (2011-2017). An additional optical fiber box is needed if your vehicle has a Harman, Kardon, or BOSE amplifier system. This unit decodes Bose or Harman Kardon systems via the optical interface, ensuring your vehicle's original optic fiber amplifier, Harman Kardon system, or Bose sound system continues to operate. A grey plug must be removed to accept the fiber wires. Simply connect the fiber optic connector to the CAN-BUS box on the head unit. The new head unit will then be integrated into the OEM speaker system. Installation is simplified as there is no need to run 6-meter long cables from the front to the rear (trunk) of the vehicle. All cables can be connected at the front, reducing installation complexity. Some car models may require an extra fiber optic loop adapter.
