looking for a backup power source for my 1/2 HP sump pump 750 watts 110v. Would like for the power source to auto switch from home-wall-outlet power to the inverter if the home power is not available, The process reversed when power to the home becomes available. Would the APS750 function to the requirement? Thanks Ron

Ron, I use power inverters and this will do what you want as long as it's hooked up to something like a marine battery or two. Then when power comes back on the batteries will get recharged by the unit.
