do I need to update bios for my AMD Ryzen 5 5600X to work?

Just made a build 2 days ago, paired it with a 5600 (non X). No update needed, the Bios was already on the latest (7C95vHE).

I´m new to building a PC this will be my first mb and its a bit scary, do i need to buy a disk reader for the driver and if so can you help me with one?

Most mb do come with a driver disk but it is not necessary to buy a disk reader. Once the pc is operational and windows is installed,updating widows itself will find and install most of the drivers needed for operation.After that open up device manager and look to see if there are any additional drivers needed. Or you can go to the manufacturer website look up your mb and download them there.Another way is to use software like driver booster but I do not recommend doing so unless you are having trouble finding a specific driver as a last ditch effort sometimes this can help.

Will the output be on hdmi on start up or do I need display cable to change output in bios?

I never used display cable. HDMI is fine.

No, your board requires DDR4 memory as it is a newer release. I seriously doubt that DDR3 would even function on this board. Good luck in your build, find good memory that will enable your board to take advantage of your board's capabilities. Good luck, happy build!
