I bought this for a tablet and had to replace it.  The tablet kept unmounting it, and I thought the tablet was defective, but a name-brand memory card had no problems.  Based on that one experience, I would not use it except for the most basic slow storage tasks, and certainly not critical on-the-fly writing like photography.

I'm buying a trail camera that uses SD flash card.  Will this work? what is the adapter and why is it needed?

The small piece is called "micro SD".  It came after the "SD" standard.  The larger piece is the adapter to fit into a "SD" slot.  The "micro SD'" can fit in a "micro SD" slot (without the adapter), or in a "SD" slot with the use of the adapter.  Data is stored on the "micro SD" card.  The "SD" adapter is just an adapter to fit a "SD" slot.  It does not store data.  If you use the "SD" adapter, you have to place the "micro SD" card into the adapter.

Yes this should work for both, The Druid Wiki indicates the device supports up to 64GB SDXC cards, and will support older microSDHC such as this one.

I use the card in my Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Tab 2 7", MUVI video recorder devices without problems. works great.

I have a tablet and don't know how to buy the extra GB but it says I can add 32GB to the memory.  Can you tell me if this is what I need.  I have a Android 4.1 and it says a TF card of 32GB storage card?

How does this rate for speed?

The class 10 is one of the fastest ones out there for normal use & is usually only a little more expensive than lower speed ones, sometimes less expensive on sale. Capacity is mainly what you have to look out for, some devices will only work ones half the capacity or less. For my digital camera, it is faster than the minimum suggested. I've been buying all of mine in this class that way it works in everything I have. If I use it with a USB adapter I know the USB 2.0 cannot make full use of it's speed, but I only use it with the computer for transferring photos & video. This one is in my cell phone.

I know the differences between SLC, MLC and TLC. SLC has the highest life expectancy but is not affordable on a consumer base level.

Lower endurance limit than SLC

A good fit for consumer products. Not suggested for applications which require frequent update of data.
TLC- Three Layer Cell
Higher density
Lower endurance limit than MLC and SLC
TLC has slower read and write speeds than conventional MLC
5,000 program/erase cycles per cell
Best price point
A good fit for low-end basic products. Not suggested for critical or important applications at this time which require frequent updating of data.

Therefore you are left with MLC and TLC. As I mentioned before I want reliability and speed so I am leaning towards MLC drives rather than a TLC drive. But with the onset of the new TLC drives that have been said to last 11 years or how much longer does an MLC drive last in comparison. And with the newer technologies built into these NAND's I can not only see lower latency but better life expectancy. So I want some opinions on the life expectancy of newer drives like the 840 EVO and the Pro vs and MLC drive. I also want some recommendations for MLC drives that provide low latency read and writes.

I'm looking for either a 250 or 500 GB drive with company that has a great track record such as Intel or Samsung in the SSD world for both MLC and TLC drives. And if anyone has an opinion as to why I should choose one over another.
