I have an older Garmin Nuvi 350. I lost the original data cable. Bought 1 and it will charge but not transfer data. Ideas?

I bought this cable and it did not arrive as pictured (did not have the torus) and didn't work at all.  My past experience is that the Garmin is very fussy and many  generic cables will not work.

It won't work with any garmin products.

this cable lists it's compatible with the garmin nuvi 1490T,  Is it also compatible with the 1490LMT?

Yes, it's purpose is to connect the GPS with your computer.  It will work on all Garmin's.
