I created Octocurl out of a personal need. I’ve never liked using heat on my hair, so I used to wash it at night and twist it into a microfiber turban to dry overnight while creating waves.
There were two problems:
- It always fell off
- I wanted more curls
In the summer of 2017, I started experimenting with sewing fabric strips onto a headband. By December, we were online — and we’ve loved sharing a better way to do heatless curls ever since. xo
How did we get our start?
Our founder created the original Octocurl design at her kitchen table in 2017 — cutting paper strips and stapling them to a headband. What started as an idea quickly became an obsession. She spent the summer testing — single, double, even quadruple wraps — until it worked.
What problem are we solving?
There are countless heat tools on the market, but few options for intentional, versatile, heat-free 360° curls—designed for comfort and real life wear.
