Why is there such a big upcharge? this is only 225 retail

I purchased this same sound system a couple years ago, and it has been a very good and reliable unit for my needs. Can't recall what I paid for it, but it was no where near $700, more in the $200/$250 range. Most folks pay way too much for a sound system. Do an online search on "buying a sound system" and you will be amazed how much less a unit you will be happy with, and it will sound great! I notice that this item, per the newegg.com page, is being sold and shipped by Growkart which makes me wonder if it is an "obsolete" item for Newegg, and they find it wherever they can. Are there other units more inline with the $225 you have seen? You did not mention the "retail" company you found it in for $225. Is it a reputable company? If it is, buy it there instead of making a big issue and pocket the $472 and be happy. But if you are not sure, I can guarantee that Newegg is one of the best companies around, very honest to deal with. Best of luck with your purchase.

mine has only one, the output, but seems some commands like volume are bi-directional

No,  it doesn't have that capability.  Great player but can't do 4K

does the rear 2 speakers operate by blue tooth/wireless connections?

i do not want to run wires to these speakers.!
