The Sigma 85 mm f/ 1.4 DG HSM Art Lens has a Super Multi-Layer Coating, which has been applied to lens elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich color-neutral imagery, even with backlit conditions. The integrated Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) present in the lens realizes quiet and quick autofocusing, which is complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also allows full-time manual focus control easily by rotating the focus ring at any time.







The Sigma 85 mm f/ 1.4 DG HSM Art Lens has a rounded nine-blade diaphragm that helps produce a striking out-of-focus quality. The lens is designed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material and the traditional metals for greater precision and utilized in wide temperature ranges. The bayonet mount in the lens is constructed from brass to ensured durability and accuracy. The two SLD elements present in the lens, one aspherical element and one element with a high rate of anomalous partial dispersion and a high index of refraction, have been included in the lens design to correct chromatic aberrations throughout the entire focusing range and help ensure high image clarity, sharpness, and contrast regardless of focus point or aperture setting. The optical design additionally helps control distortion and limit vignetting.
