I've personally used this card on Windows 7 and Server 2012.  Being that it works with Server 2012, Windows 8 is probably supported as well.

I am looking to purchase this USB 3.0 internal card to replace the failing card already in the computer.

Joe - If the cable is going to the hard drive then it is a controller card. More than likely it is going past the HD and is plugged into USB ports on the front panel of your computer.

Anyway, I purchased this card to go on a Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H motherboard. I can't get the computer to boot past the post with this card installed. Take the card out, boots right into Windows.  So I would say to avoid this card on a Gigabyte board. Haven't bothered with any other cards as I don't want to just throw money at it hoping one will work.
