The description indicates that "collision detection with continuous power supply." I assume that means that the camera must be connected to non-switched DC Power. If I am correct, does the device have an energy saving strategy to prevent battery drain to engine start failure?

If you park your car for more than a few days at a time I imagine this would be a problem. I read another review that said he uses a wireless portable power supply. I thought that sounded practical. Also another thing to think about is if you hard wire it, having one of those battery powered car jumpers handy (just incase). Essentially what I'm saying is, this is your excuse to buy a couple more toys for "safety reasons" of course.
