Question 1

I have an older Dell XPS 420 and according to the specs it is eSATA. Will this drive work in my machine? It will be used as a second drive. I am running Win7 and have 4gb of memory, if that matters.

eSATA is a standard for external connections to SATA drives. You will need to supply power either via an external enclosure or from your PC's internal power supply (depending on how you install this disk). Another considerations is what version of the SATA protocol your machine uses, (from memory here so I may not be right) but I think 6GB/s is version III. The drive should fall back to lower protocol versions without any difficulty if your machine does not support SATA III.

No. A "bare drive" means that it's got nothing on it, not even formatting or partitioning.

No cable or screws are included, just the bare drive. No software or anything either.

If the DVR has dedicated internal storage for 3.5" hard drives you should have no problem swapping it out. If it doesn't have any internal storage then you'll have to provide your own storage solution and connect to the DVR via the CAT 5 ethernet port on the back.

2TB is 2TB. The biggest difference between the blue and green is their power consumption. You sacrifice some performance for the lower power consumption. Three green works best in DVRs. The blue is better for use in a computer. Both will work in either application.

I am attempting to make an old (5 or so yrs old, was probably not the right sata so will have to get new io/sata board) tower computer that was replaced with a laptop. I now need to edit some videos and will be taking higher volume of high res pics. I am just starting to see video advantages of running one of the LENOX OS systems and some very high end professional grade video programs. I am not yet well versed in Lenox but do know there is a way to run my 22" touchscreen and my intention (if possible) to use a smaller drive (around 100 gig I think, will have to drag it out later to see the size) for the OS and the programs but have the programs use this drive as the storage of all material other than the OS and programs. Can anyone tell me if this all sound possible and be a usable system set up like that.? Backup will be to external drives, probably weekly. BTW already purchased the drive (last day of sale) but will find a place for it if I cant do what I want to do with it.

I have a desktop that is running a Crucial 240GB SSD for the OS and some programs, a WD 500GB Black HDD for some programs and a WD Green 2TB drive serving as storage for the system. It works perfectly. I've had it up and working in this configuration for over a year now and have never had a problem.
I also have 6 WD Green 2TB drives running in 3 Raid 2 (Mirrored Raid) arrays for my HTPC, for over 2 years, and haven't had a problem with those either.

Will a HDD be compatible with my SSD? And how would I transfer my info to HDD, (games)

If your wanting to use the HDD as a storage device, I have it working in my desktop with an SSD and it works fine. If your wanting to use the HDD as some kind of RAID system, you'd be better off going with another SSD.
To move data from the SSD to be stored on the HDD either "Copy and paste" or "Drag and Drop" the files. I do it quite frequently. Shouldn't be a problem.
