With multi-layer insulation and stainless steel shells, the machines maintain temperature to eliminate melting. An automatic shutoff system stops production when the bin is full to save water and energy.

Home ice makers are easy to use. Smaller, portable models contain a reservoir to add the appropriate amount of water. Some do not require a connection to a water line, so you can place them anywhere near an electrical outlet, extending their use to other locations, like home bars or outdoor party areas.  Because of the compact and portable design, it is easy to set up and then store away inside a cabinet or on a counter. Touch controls conveniently located at the top of the machine and a viewing window allow you to monitor the progress. Some models offer a scoop and removable basket.

Automatic ice machines come in a variety of sizes and capabilities. For professional food service industries, large, freestanding models allow you to keep a generous supply on hand at all times. For the home, you can find models with a single cube style or several options for small, medium or large cubes in bullet shapes, similar to those available in a restaurant. Some machines also include a water-filtration dispenser, LED indicator lights, self-cleaning capabilities and timers. Additionally, some models include a water saver that collects the melted ice and uses its water reservoir to recycle it. In this instance, the storage tray remains without refrigeration and serves as a bucket.
