Easy to setup/configure and to have it running quick!

This QNAP runs quickly and quietly. The VM is Microsoft Server 2019, and it is very fast. I have it configured to boot off of a RAID-1 SSD drive array, and the AMD Ryzen processor is very fast. Adding RAM and the SSD drives was EASY. Very nice design on the case, easy access 3 screws and that was it. I added five 16-TB drives in RAID-5, and it is used as a Veeam Offsite Repository target server.

- 12 NVME slots to fill up for a serious highspeed NAS for your network - Stick with NVME drives of same make/model/size and you'll be happy Update: Received it last week and FINALLY am glad I got it. The storage on this is FAST! Worth it completely. Of course, you will have to play the pick-you-poison RAID storage level of comfort. I went with RAID 5 using 12 4TB Crucial P3+ NVMe drives. Out of the TOTAL 48TB of REAL storage I ended up with RAID 5 total storage of 39.98 TB with a fault tolerance of being able to lose one drive while still being able to work. Good enough for me! I would also STRONGLY suggest you make sure you're connecting to a 10GB Ethernet connection to truly enjoy the speed too.

Easy to install.

Straightforward rack install. Took about an hour with the optional brackets (you need those; they are not optional). First time using Synology. It is even better than I expected. The machine is largely quiet (see cons). I got Docker working relatively quickly and was able to host containers that I could easily access from another machine w/o issue.
