Popped it onto my network and it worked great out of the box. No issues at all. Very thorough manual -- it seems like it would be hard to get this wrong, but if there are every any doubts, the manual is clearly written and straightforward. I whipped out my multimeter stripped down some scrap ethernet cable to test across pairs. Seemed to be working fine when connected to the camera, and it won't supply power when not connected to a compliant device so there is no "idle" reading to check. I don't have 100ft of cable, but I tested on the longest cable I have (roughly 60 ft) and it works fine. No lag, IP camera still works fine. If you need to push this to its limits in terms of range, you'll have to also consider how much of a cheakskate you are on the cable. A super-bargain-price 100ft ethernet cable might see a drop in the power at that length. I'll go cheapo on a 2ft patch cable that doesn't matter, but buyer beware.

Easy initial setup, although it took a couple of tries to get the mesh working properly. Lots of advanced features. Ethernet backhaul is fantastic.
