This is a great piece of hardware. Simple, easy to understand directions in great packaging. The device is heavy, which spells quality most of the time. Runs very quiet and comes in a sturdy PVC shell.

-It is all pros

Can handle demanding load Easy setup Good customer support Easy tracking of power usage

1u slot and shallow. Works great in my 2 post rack. Since I have purcashed this I have yet to have a power outage.. go figure. Dont use the cd, go directly to the manufactors website and get the latest business edition software. Powerpanel Menu is very easy to use and understand

Small and works great for the modem and router and other small power use.

I have been using this UPS to backup and protect a cable modem, high-powered wireless router, a 4-port cisco VPN router, a 5-port cisco switch, a Synology DS-416Play NAS with 4 HDDs, a large dell laptop, docking station, and 3 large monitors. Although each device reduces the battery time (which I was expecting), this device has been extremely reliable during surges, spikes, and short power outages. None of my devices have had power issues, and the high joule count is better than most surge protectors on the market (factor that into the cost, and the price tag seems very small). Until I need it, I can't even tell it's there because it's small and quiet. The buttons on the top are easy to use and also tell you how many minutes of backup time it has based on the current power draw. I am ordering a second one of these for another office, and have also recommended this product to collegues.

- Arrived well-before suggested delivery date. - Well-packaged to prevent any damage. - Set-up was easy with minimal, but very good instructions. - It has been in use for almost two weeks, and there have been no electrical incidents where the backup needed to turn on, so . . . will need to wait to comment on reliability. - Connected to the Back-UPS 1500 are an iMac with two ext HDD's, a Mac mini M2 Pro w/ 4TB of SSD, a studio monitor, and an OWC mini stack STX with a 4 TB HDD and 4 TB of SSD.

- Works as advertised, supports my mid-range PC with dual monitor setup long enough to save, close my work & shutdown when outages/fluctuations occur - power supplied to my devices plugged in remains consistent & entirely uninterrupted - Has lived through over a dozen power flickers & full on outages in my small town which is notorious for frying household appliances with our terrible power company (in southern Ontario, Canada) - Alarm when wall power is lost and UPS has kicked on can be turned off/on - Alarm, when on, is not excessively loud - the word alarm makes you think it will be screaming at you but it's comparable to a microwave button beep, probably a little bit quieter - When alarm is turned off, it still makes a very audible click when kicking on due to external power being cut off, so unless you have closed headphones or are blasting music you'll probably know the power went out if you didn't have any other indicator (like you had your lights off in your room mid-day or something) and can begin shutting your stuff off

This battery is awesome. I replaced a couple of smaller UPS's with this one in a telco closet.. love the fact that i can just plug this into our comcast business modem and it goes to the net and does it's thing in the cloud. This did come with a 20Amp plug so i had to change it over to the regular straight plug.. but you can get adapters for those.

The software provides good, very complete information, I like the detailed performance info and good event logs, so you know at all times what is going on. Strong native Linux support, great run time. This is the UPS to live by.

Expandable, heavy duty, good interface

Great product. Seamless switch to battery. Quality of APC for homeowners needing low watt demand. DO IT its worth it!!!! *** I have more UPCs in a commercial environment than I know what to do with.......this is in my personal residence, I know what a good UPC is.

I'm in IT and have purchased 50-60 of these units in the last 3 years with no problems. No DOA's and non have failed yet. I find that 550VA is great for single workstations like Core2Duo with duel 19" LCD's.

***An updated after several months of usage, and a change in score to 5 stars as I've learned more about the unit. Buried in the software which is run through your web browser, is a setting to turn down the sensitivity on the incoming voltage which fixes my major con of this unit for me, the unit toggling between ac and battery constantly. *** Very straight forward to setup, the units interface is fairly intuitive to use. Provided me with roughly 30min of power for 2 computers, I7 7700K with a 1080ti, and a I9 10590XE with a 3080, a boat load of SSD drives between them, lots of peripherals and 3 monitors. No blip in the computers performance when switching between battery and ac driven power. Online web interface for real time monitoring of the unit is a nice plus, can send you email reports when issues arise with the unit. Clear instructions to position the unit in it's final resting place before you connect the battery. This style battery shouldn't be moved around once it's connected.

- Reliable brand, product is similarly regarded - Pretty sensitive to brownouts, so don't be surprised if it trips randomly here-and-there - Really no fuss nor nonsense with setting it up
