Have had many WD portable HD's since they came out years ago. Only 1 failed over many years

I'm not a tech geek. I purchased WD based on reviews, and previous experience with WD. I use for a heavy load of mp3/cdg files. Transferring files (2.2 TB) did take quite a while, but might be based on computer I used. I'm not concerned about the case as was stated in previous reviews; I keep in a protected area when storing, so shouldn't be an issue anyway. I like that it plugs directly into laptop via USB.

Easy to set up. Fast transfers and a small footprint. I traditionally swap out my external drives about once a year. Each year they get bigger. This year I bought 2 5TB drives to replace my older pair of 2TB drives. (My old ones will remain an archive.) So far, I have only activated one, but it is working fine.

I bought two of the WD 2TB My Passport Portable Storage external hard drives in red. I plan to keep one at home and the other in my safe deposit box. The red color was more expensive, but it makes backing up files more fun to do! These drives are easy to use, and I did not install the software; I just plugged-and-played. These are the smallest external hard drives I've ever had. The shipment arrived quickly. Thank you!

Quick & easy Reliable Fast

-smooth running and stays cool do to the aluminum cover. -anti skid and stealthy rubber pads. -pretty peppy for a compact 2TB external. connected to a renesis controller via usb 3.0 and backing up 743 GB of compressed music files i saw a high of 57.1MB/s and an average of 47.3 MB/s. i continued to backup the rest of my music files for a total of 1.3 TB (+3/4 capacity) and the transfer speed only dropped slightly to 39.8 MB/s. -3 year warranty.

We've been using a 4GB version for a while and it has stood the test of time and use. So, it was without hesitation that we ordered the 5GB. As someone who repairs and maintains the computers of family, friends, and clients, I can never have enough space for facilitating back-ups of their and of our priceless/irreplaceable data while doing work on various systems.

great hard drive being 6tb is better than there 5tb and really not much bigger can hardly tell the difference as photos show 5tb on bottom

WD 5TB My Passport Portable Storage External Hard Drive was what I needed for extra external storage space... It worked the way it was supposed to have... I use it for my Blender 3.5... I will be installing the new 4.0 version when it improves from its beta version...

Great storage expansion. Excellent for when you need to free up space on the internal drive. I like to minimize the time my system wastes constantly downloading updates for games I'm not currently playing by moving them to this external drive and then disconnect it.

I like Western Digital hard drives and this is my 4th external drive. All of the still work and I expect this one to perform as advertised.

Easy installation.

Quiet and small. Loads ps4 games to my ps5 super quick. What more do you need? I got the 5tb model.
