so far so good. it's a western digital and they are usually the best around.. I've got some I've had for years that still work so lets hope this one lasts as long.

Well, I expected to return this product because of shipping and handling mishaps...but product was well packaged to absorb any drops, bumps, etc.. Overall product works very good.

It works as a backup drive. Faster than I thought it would be. Very quiet.

Bought 18 TB on sale for less than the price of a 12 TB. This is my 3rd size/generation of a WD Elements external hard disk drive. No failures on previous drives. None so far on this one.

My Synology NAS never has enough internal disk space; a couple of external USB drives help bolster its storage capacity. I've been using Western Digital drives since 1994 and have had very few failures. They mostly just get retired when larger drives take their place. Since I'm serving the drives over Gigabit Ethernet, performance isn't an issue; my concerns are price and reliability and WD delivers both.

Its fast, transfer from ssd to mybook6tb avg 190mb/s , mybook6tb to ssd avg 1000mb/s. Ive not heard the loudness i read about in so many reviews. Its nice looking, seems like its well ventilated, whats more to say, only time will tell.

7200 hard works as expected.

This WD external hard drive is dedicating its 18TB capacity to cell phone photo downloads. Two years worth of accumulated Samsung Galaxy S22-Utra-photos absorbed slightly more than 25GB of disk space, leaving plenty of capacity for future downloads.

Silent, power efficient. Great product design and look. Love the gripped surface.

Everything is high quality, from case, drive, cables, power, online manual, registration. The USB-C connection seems to work steady and well. Has 5 year warranty. The front of the case is black & the body is a textured gun metal grey.
