Worked 6 months burned a couple of CDs light scribed worked after I found the software and tinkered with it, Not real sure why it quit I stored it in a drawer and it didn't get banged around it may be my fault WMP writing program reported drive was full and I couldn't write a CD I just decided to buy another drive so we'll see if it works fine if not fine I'll just have two working drives and user error update for this review I had same error with new drive so I downloaded Nero free software and it is fine, the issue is with MS not the CD drive

Simple and intuitive to install, just unplugged the old one and plugged in the new drive. Once I booted up my PC the new drive was ready to go. I already burned several discs of content from my hard drive that I needed to backup with no failed burns. The drive is faster and more reliable than my previous drive, so it doesn’t take long at all to burn discs or upload content onto my PC. I’d definitely recommend it.
