By MB, the cheapest and reliable HD in the market Will last many years of constant use

For Synology NAS users, the Synology brand drives means easier adoption, less headaches and fewer notifications. The extra small pennies/gb price per GB over other enterprise drives with worth it. No need to worry about compatibility with many features of DSM 7.1

I've got 10 of these, and each one has worked flawlessly from intital turn on, to partitioning and format. No noises, no DOAs, just a lot of useful space. Not a commercial drive, says Seagate, but for home use, it is an amazing amount of storage for not a lot of money.

More storage space

Great price when on sale. Huge capacity. Arrived well packaged.

One of largest drives on the market. Meant for 24/7 operation. Quiet. Works well in my NAS. No errors found on drive.

Makes a great secondary harddrive/back-up Easy to install Plenty of space Good price

Installed on a Synology DS216J NAS. I've read others complaining about noise but I haven't experienced anything yet. I ordered two, both were packaged professionally (not just bubble wrap) - these came in individual boxes with the molded end holders like you might receive working in a data center from a big vendor like IBM. Speed is deceiving, it says 5400RPM but when I looked the model up (WD10ERFX), seems to be variable speed (some kind of intellipower technology) - supposedly these can adjust up to 7200RPM if called upon. Maybe all RED drives have intellipower which is great if your workload calls on it; save on power and get speed when you need it!

It's a NAS Western Digital. Works just as expected.

This is such a quiet drive 5 cameras record 24/7 and it doesn't bat an eye

plugged in, has worked for the past two weeks. No overt warnings about excessive bad sectors

Working great after about a week. Sure seems like it's faster than my old one.

Good performance for 7200 RPM drives Mostly silent operation Running 24/7 in RAID 1 without issues Good value at 350USD each (you may find a different price) CMR technology, 5-year warranty

Ordered and was promptly shipped

I rely on these drives for my work PCs, and have trusted WD black going back to the Velociraptor days 20 years back. Only issue I had on latest purchase, was defective drive that had been cut open and repackaged to look like a new return but was defective with "cyclic redundancy error." Luckily Newegg shipped me a fast replacement and that worked first try, as per usual. Whew!

Big Best bang for buck value Quiet. I've read reviews whining about noisy hard drives in NAS boxes. My NAS is currently on my desk. I can hear the drive working but they are not loud.

Well, I have to say I am impressed with this hard drive. While I do not have a security setup this drive is running in my main home network computer as a shared storage. Lots of reading and writing to it for storage of music, pictures, movies, and system backups. I have to say it handles all of it with ease. Its very fast even for only being a 5400 rpm hard drive. This drive is faster in reads and writes than my systems 640gb western digital blue 7200 rpm hard drive. With 1 terabyte of storage space it has plenty of room for all my networks needs. On my system it runs at Sata 3gbs speeds I can just imagine how much faster it would be if I had Sata 6gbs ports for it to be connected to. Very quiet drive so far with my experience with it, unlike some drives I have had that you could actually hear operating, when reading or writing to them. Now as I have said I use it for my home networks shared storage device, I can attest to the fact it handles everything, and as such if you set it up for a security systems drive it would handle all your data needs for recording video 24/7. Nice 3.5 inch drive whatever your needs may be.

Quick shipping. Easy for my son to install. Upgraded security cam DVR. Works beautifully.

Works fine, no issues.
